British Grand Prix
|
As part of Team Momentus' prize for winning the 2007 UK National Championships,
they were invited to attend the British Grand Prix.
The team were able to meet Mr Bernie Ecclestone himself, along with Jackie Stewart,
Christian Klien, Mark Webber and last but not least the Red Bull Girls. The weekend
started with an early start on Saturday, after arriving and grabbing a bite to eat the
team were whisked off by Dave Howes (F1 in Schools Project Manager) to the Paddock to
meet Andrew Denford who then took them to some of the celebrities. The team then went back to
the spectator’s side to watch some of the other races that were being held that day.
Later on, Dave met up with the team and they went back over to the Paddock area.
There they were invited into the Red Bull Racing Hospitality Suite to get a light
refreshment and then they headed over to the Red Bull Pits where they were shown around
the cars, spoke to the drivers and as part of the prizes for being UK National Champions,
had their faces printed onto the cars. This experience was a
once in a lifetime opportunity!!
The next day The Grandprix was under way,
with Hamilton on pole position, it seemed a British victory at the British Grandprix
was going to happen, unfortunately this didn’t happen but he still managed to keep a
podium position. Overall an excellent weekend thanks to F1 in Schools!
